Are Kohler drains universal if they don’t come with the drain body and the company doesn’t test with other drain bodies?

I chatted with Kohler to get the scoop on these two items, and all they could tell me was this: The $170 drain doesn’t include the drain body, while the $110 one does. How does that even make sense?
I’m stuck on which one to buy. Our rough in plumbing already has a drain body in place. Do you know if Kohler drains are universal? I asked Kohler, and all they said was, “We’re not sure because we don’t test with other drain bodies.” Ugh, help me out here!
Most of the drains are 2” threaded, possibly Oatley brand. Keep in mind that the price of that drain is higher than Oatley.
When installing shower pans, one type requires screwing in the drain plate while the other simply glues in. The adjustable one can be moved up or down for proper drainage, but the other one needs to be done carefully.
