Any tips for removing a railing and edging the floor with LVP at a 45-degree angle?

I need some help figuring out how to take out this railing, and what can I use for edging on the floor where the railing is now? I’m putting in LVP. I am planning to put the railing back, but I’m not sure about the 45-degree angle from where the railing is to the top of the steps. Can you advise me on that?

Stair nosing in a steel color that matches!

You might want to consider using stair treads that match your lvp product. Lvp and laminate product stair treads usually have a raised bump that can be a slip trip hazard in a home. Another option is to create your own stair treads with square or round ends using tape, glue, and a heat gun. There are tutorials on YouTube and a website called premiumstairtreads.com where you can send your lvp to be finished and returned.

Is it necessary for this railing to be there? – code, insurance, etc.

Mentioned that he is adding another railing when he finishes.

Consider grabbing an oscillating multi-tool for your DIY projects – they’re super handy! Look for one with variable speed and easy blade changes. Plus, there are plenty of additional blades available beyond what is shown in the video. 😊

Take out the 4 smaller spindles. Trim the larger spindle and add a stairnosing. You can usually find a variety of colors at Home Depot, Menards, or Lowe’s.

Make sure to use trim that complements the vertical run of your tread rise on the edge to align with the LVP on the stairs. This will give your stairs a seamless finish.
