Any tips for a DIY kitchen renovation with cabinets, walls, and counters, especially for a newbie like me who’s worried about making a mess or hating the result?

Sorry about the chaos, we just threw a birthday bash! So, I’m thinking of taking on a DIY project in our kitchen. I want to spruce up the cabinets, walls, and eventually the countertops.
Has anyone here tackled cabinet renovations before? If so, how did you go about it? I’m a bit jittery to dive in and potentially make a mess since it’s my first go at it. I’m also worried I might end up disliking the outcome even more because I’m not exactly skilled in this area 😅
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated!
I used to have identical cabinets and decided to pay for a professional to paint them. The cost was $2000. Seemed doable as a DIY project.

I’m looking forward to being able to upgrade to granite countertops when I can afford it. My current countertops and floor are in desperate need of a makeover!
The result was great! I really like the white color, but I’m a bit anxious because I have young children 😅 I painted the living room around a year ago, did some touch-ups about 4 months ago, and already see the need for more. The paint wasn’t of the highest quality, so it tends to come off easily. I definitely need a different type for the other areas of the house.
This is what my kitchen looked like before the improvements.
