Any suggestions for affordable color schemes for a home office with woodworm holes, aiming for a dark, moody vibe like Farrow and Ball’s Drainpipe?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for some suggestions or tips on color schemes for our home office / study. We’re working with a tight budget so I’m doing it myself. I’ve filled in a bunch of woodworm holes, hence the messy colors. I’m aiming for a dark and moody vibe – I tried Farrow and Ball’s “Drainpipe” color but it ended up looking more blue against the wood. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you have!
It really depends on the overall vibe of the room. I usually opt for a grey tone. For example, I used “secret moss” in my dining room (a greenish grey) and “winter calm” in my office (a lavender grey). There are some lovely blue-greys as well. I find these shades more sophisticated than a plain grey. Although, I did go with “Urban sunrise” in my bathroom, a medium grey that I really enjoy. I suggest trying to visualize the colors you’re considering with your photos to see how they will look once the wood is gone and alongside your other colors. Or you could get paint chips that match your existing colors and compare your potential choices next to them.
Thank you, , for the suggestions!
If you paint the entire wall, the color won’t be right next to the wood anymore! Personally, I prefer black or iron, especially if the rest of the room isn’t too dark. Love those windows!
I was thinking about using iron as an option – do you think it would be too dark if I did the entire room (at least the wooden part)?
Hey, I forgot to mention the floor is actually hardwood with a slightly orange undertone that’s throwing me off!
Thank you, !
I would consider painting a black wall in a matte finish to conceal the repairs, with the other wall in a white or tan color.
Thanks a lot, !
Can you tell me the shade of the floor? And is this color just for the paint or will it be used on the drywall as well?
What do you think of the hardwood floor in the hallway? It has orangey tones to it. The office is covered in dust and sheeting, but the floor color is the same. I feel like the downpipe color looks really blue next to it.
Sure, here is the rephrased text in a conversational tone:

I believe brought the drywall all the way up to the ceiling ledge.
Joanna ordon To tone down the orange in the floors, consider painting the walls with a warm undertone that complements it. Using a cool undertone will only accentuate the orange hues.
Joanna ordon I suggest going for a wall color that’s a bit lighter than the shade you choose for the wood.
Noted, I’ll keep that in mind. Appreciate the advice!
Oh, got it. I’m planning to visit the store tomorrow to grab some samples to test out. Thanks a lot!

Reen Forest Moss
I really like the deep color underneath all of them, perhaps adding some gold accents such as handles
I really adore all of those colors!
I believe the color at the bottom would be the most flattering!
I really like both of them. That wall is awesome!
Consider using SW cast iron for a more natural look along the eyesight line. You could also check with the primitive group for paint options, as they have great colors that can add a classic touch to the wood. Make sure to do more research on color options to enhance the beautiful details in the room and make it the best it can be. I don’t think any of the current color choices will work well, but that room is truly amazing! 😬🤩
The top panel features the Star Wars cast. Iron.
We used Pinecone Hill by Behr for my small home office, it’s the same color you were thinking of. We did a color drenching technique and I absolutely love how it turned out!
I’m loving the look of this structure on the walls! Dark colors really make the lighting pop. Make sure to add lots of lighting and embrace the dark paint!
