Any recommendations for patching a corner before tiling my shower, as I am new to plaster work but eager to try?

Hey there! I could really use some advice on fixing up this corner. I’m in the process of tiling my shower, and I’ve never worked with plaster before, but I’m willing to give it a try. Any suggestions on what materials I should use would be greatly appreciated. Can you help me out?
Are you planning to wrap the tile around the corner or butt it up against it? Are you installing backerboard or tiling directly over drywall?
Oops, scratch that, I just noticed I was viewing it incorrectly. I recommend cutting the drywall back even more (a small strip like that could lead to problems later on). Extend the drywall to the corner, then apply tape and mud.
