Any plumbers available to give advice on repairing corroded copper pipes before I tackle a bathroom remodel after 2 years?
Hey DIY group, it’s been a minute since I’ve been on here. Haven’t tackled a remodel in over 2 years! But now I’m itching to get into a bathroom remodel. First things first, though – I’ve got a copper pipe that’s starting to leak at a joint. It’s in a critical spot as it’s the main line feeding from the hot water heater and cold water, branching off to the rest of the house. Any plumbers on here that could give me some guidance on the best practices? I haven’t messed with plumbing as a DIY in 8 years at this house. When I start looking into it, I get overwhelmed with shark bite fittings, clamps, crimps, and the debate between copper with clamps or switching to pex. I’m not looking to redo the whole house, just this section with about 8 pipes total including the branch circuits.
Thanks in advance to any plumbers willing to lend a hand. If you reply here, I’ll shoot you a picture of the situation and hit you with a few questions!
Could you share a few photos with me? I work as a plumber. Everyone has their own perspective, but I’ll share my thoughts with you.
