Hey, does anyone have any suggestions for how to conceal the space between the wall and the thermostat? I recently put in a new one, but there’s still a noticeable gap even though it’s secure. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Feel free to remove the top cover and add a thin layer of caulk around it.

Add some caulk to cover it up

Oh wow. I used to be really meticulous. Just joking but.. use caulk and then do a touch up with touch-up paint. However, if it has been a long time since the last paint job, the touch up will be more noticeable than the small gap. I would personally not do anything about it

Remove it. Cut out a 3×3 piece of drywall. Do it over. Paint the entire wall. Rewire and you’re all set.

Sarcastic response you’re referring to. Just kidding.

Haha, !

Apply some caulk

Is the thermostat attached to an electrical box?? If not, you could install an old work box in the wall and attach it to that. It should be attached to a single gang box. Or if there’s no box, you’d have to build up the wall, which involves patching and painting.

Consider getting a decorative frame and framing it. Might look neat and artsy

Hey there! When it comes to installing a new thermostat and encountering a gap, it can be a bit of a hassle. But fret not, I’ve got a trick up my sleeve that can help you out.

For smaller gaps, a touch of decorator’s caulk can do the trick. It’s simple to use with a caulking gun, and you can easily find it at your nearby hardware store. Just make sure to match the color with your wall, and the gap will disappear seamlessly.

In case of larger gaps, a thermostat wall plate might be the solution. This clever cover goes behind the thermostat and can hide any unattractive gaps. With a variety of sizes and styles available, you can pick one that complements your décor.

I hope this advice comes in handy. Enjoy your DIY project, and feel free to reach out if you need further assistance!
