Any advice on capping an old washer hookup for fridge water use without worrying about stagnation or special protocols for the drain and stink pipe?

Hey, are there any plumbers around? I’m getting rid of an old washer hookup and planning to use the water for the fridge instead. I won’t be using the hot water anymore, so I’m thinking of capping it off where it goes straight up from the main, which is only about 10 inches or so. Do you think I need to be concerned about stagnation if I do that? And is there a specific way I should cap off the drain and stink pipe, or can I just do it like any other pipe?
You have the option to cap the water and stand pipe anywhere you like. The best way is to use a PVC glue cap or a rubber Jim cap. If you’re soldering the copper pipe, you’ll need to drain it to allow for heat expansion. Alternatively, you can swear on a female adapter and then insert a brass plug.
Typically, the code in this area specifies that the dead end water pipe cannot exceed twice the diameter of the pipe.
Could you please share some photos of what’s below and right here?
